Akkodis is seeking a hands-on, motivated Automation Controls Engineer to support our operations and maintenance teams through expertise in industrial automation systems. This full-time, onsite role is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of control systems and automation software, with a strong focus on supporting plant floor operations and enhancing system reliability.
Pay Range: $65,000-72,000
Responsibilities
- Lead the support and training of operations and maintenance personnel to ensure a solid understanding of control systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Assist in the design and deployment of automation projects across various platforms.
- Modify, update, and manage industrial control software applications.
- Maintain version control and documentation of software systems.
- Provide timely and effective technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Maintain and revise functional analyses of automated processes.
- Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives targeting automation systems and processes.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of industrial software documentation and training materials.
Technical Skills
- PLC/HMI/Drives: Siemens, Allen-Bradley
- Distributed Control Systems: ABB AC450, AC800, 800xA
- Robotics: ABB, Fanuc
- Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence, and similar platforms
- CNC Controls: Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma
- Data Historians/Storage: ABB, Wonderware, Siemens PH, SQL
Additional Qualifications
- A trade school certificate, 2-year, or 4-year degree is a plus but not required.
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in cross-functional settings.
