Description:-
Responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of electronic medical equipment and devices. The role ensures that all healthcare equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and regulatory standards to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair
o Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electronic medical equipment.
o Diagnose and repair malfunctioning medical devices.
o Ensure equipment calibration meets manufacturers' and regulatory standards.
2. Equipment Installation and Testing
o Install and configure new electronic medical equipment.
o Conduct performance and safety tests before equipment is placed into service.
3. Safety and Compliance
o Ensure compliance with healthcare safety standards (e.g., FDA, OSHA, TJC).
o Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
o Assist in equipment risk assessment and hazard management.
4. Technical Support
o Provide technical assistance to healthcare staff regarding the operation of electronic medical devices.
o Troubleshoot user issues and educate end-users on proper equipment use.
5. Inventory and Asset Management
o Track inventory of devices and parts.
o Assist in procurement and disposal of electronic medical equipment.
6. Collaboration
o Work with vendors and manufacturers for technical support and warranty repairs.
o Coordinate times with clinical staff to minimize disruptions during maintenance.
Qualifications
• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
• Certifications (Preferred):
o Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent.
o Relevant OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certifications.
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance or a related field.
Skills
o Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
o Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software.
o Knowledge of safety standards and medical device regulations.
o Excellent communication and organizational skills.
