Hybrid Automotive Technical Author

Akkodis is seeking a Hybrid Automotive Technical Author for a 12-month contract job with potential to extend or covert to perm with a client in Malvern, PA or Plymouth, MI. You will work directly with client, technical writers and project/program manager to develop final product. You will review service information based on the end user needs, client specifications and expectations, and the current product information. You will utilize various computer systems for delivery of the final product to end user and client. You will interact with department management and support personnel for input, direction and resource acquisition.

Rate Range: $35.00/hour to $40.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Hybrid Automotive Technical Author job responsibilities include:

• Reviews technical documentation for spelling, grammar, and formatting.
• Must be able to work with technical writers to understand complex technical terms.
• Interfaces with customers to understand publication specifications and deliverable requirements.
• Participates in meetings with clients, subject matter experts and departmental co-workers.
• Advises project manager/team leader of project status and potential issues.
• Responsible for delivery of projects which are on time, within budget and accurate.
• Completes various assignments as directed by management.
• Uses office equipment as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• A degree in English or Technical Writing and approximately two years of experience is required in editing, or a related field
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal and written communication, such as client communications and technical information.
• Technical understanding. Must be able to understand automotive vehicle parts.
• Ability to communicate ideas, in verbally and in text format, in a clear, concise manner.
• Proficiency of computer programs - MS Word and XML.
• Ability to meet deadlines, monitor and assess performance within deadlines, and utilize appropriate resources to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
• Ability to work with short deadlines and high stress and to handle frequently changing demands.
• Ability to utilize creative problem resolution skills to handle client related concerns.
• Ability to be forward thinking.

*** Hybrid work with expectation to be in the office three days a week in Malvern, PA or one day a week in Plymouth, MI.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
