Industrial Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Industrial Engineer for a (Contract-to-probable Hire) job with a client in Chandler, AZ. This position requires at least two years of experience in industrial engineering and an ability to read engineering drawings.

Rate Range: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Duration: 1 year with good potential for Conversion to Salaried/Direct Hire/Full Time
• Location: Chandler, AZ

Basic Responsibilities:

• Develop “Standard Work Playbooks” for about 30 assemblies, each with about 4 variants to be produced throughout 2025.
• Time Studies – record actual operator cycle time of each step in a documented process with a stopwatch.
• Waste Observations – make note of standard observed wastes and collaborate with Assemblers and Manufacturing Engineer on suggestions to eliminate/improve.
• Create playbooks (Level Loading of Operators, Standard Work Combo Sheets, Cell Diagrams) to the FBS standard template to meet the increased daily production demand for 2025.
• Create alternate playbooks to account for variation in takt time.
• Create daily management logs to measure actual production cell output against the new playbook standard.
• Work with Tech Writer to draft necessary updates to build procedures.
• Develop daily management tools to track operator performance and overall cell productivity.
• Assist in training new associates to the standard process.
• Assist in relocating and/or duplicating operations (with completed playbooks) to new factory cell locations.

Requirements and Nice to Have:

• 2 or more years of experience in Industrial Engineering or similar/relevant background.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Engineer solutions to process wastes and capacity constraints (e.g. process tooling, equipment improvements, process improvements).
• Need to be highly proficient in Excel.
• Experience with Visio or similar diagram tool.
