Akkodis is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS) for a Direct Hire position with a client Madison, NJ OR Philadelphia, PA (100% Remote- This role is remote but incumbents need to live in the Madison or Philadelphia area. ).

Salary Range: $140K - $160K/Annum Benefits; Salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Type: Direct Hire

Client is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS) contract who will recommend, design and implement new services and support existing services, while working directly with our internal engineering teams. You'll continually be looking for ways to improve both infrastructure (SRE duties) and application deployment and testing pipelines (DevOps duties). This position will be responsible for overall system performance, uptime and incident management. This role will also involve mentoring and teaching our existing DevOps engineering team and helping to cross-train knowledge across products and technology stacks. You will also be responsible for leading the adoption of new technologies, working with product development teams to find new solutions to challenging problems.

What you will be doing:

• Tech Stack: Linux, PHP, Java, Terraform, Python, Docker, Swarm, Ansible, AWS
• Recommend new technologies and methodologies for managing cloud-based application services
• Manage cloud environments (AWS) and customer on-premise server installations (Linux)
• Automate cloud deployments using Terraform
• Software Configuration Management using Ansible or AWS Devops Pipelines
• Implement monitoring and logging solutions for technology stacks and container orchestration platforms
• Implement Continuous Improvement Continuous Delivery solutions
• Work with various source control technologies, including their connection to processes/pipelines
• Aid customers in addressing challenges, help to recommend DevOps solutions in line with the customer’s goals
• Work with development team to build, deploy, and maintain software in cloud environments
• Work with product security to develop and implement security best practices
• Develop run books and documentation to ensure that other DevOps engineers can respond effectively to issues

What you need to be successful in this role:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent relevant field
• Over 8 years of prior exprience in roles with cloud-based DevOps focus
• Prior experience as a senior or lead DevOps engineer
• Prior Experience with MySQL, AWS, and Docker
• Networking, firewall and load balancer configuration, and Web Application Firewalls
• Knowledge of FTP and file delivery mechanisms
• Production level experience with distributed applications as scale in cloud (AWS)
• Experience with configuration management and deployment automation tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and Ansible
• Strong working knowledge of modern continuous development techniques and pipelines (Jenkins,Github,Gitlab)
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Good knowledge of Bash or Python or some other programming language
• Strong foundational knowledge of Linux operating systems
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL
