Production Support / Linux System Administrator
Akkodis is seeking our client's Support / System Administrator in Charlotte, NC for Hybrid work.
Note : We are only looking for candidates who can work on our W-2. No third-party candidates or employers are involved in the role.
Local to Charlotte, NC preferred.

Billing Rate : $60 / hr. to $63 / hr. on W-2
The Hybrid Senior Technical Application and Network Engineer role combines System administrator-level skills with Application programming experience. This position acts as a Subject Matter Expert and provides L3 support to an internal employee-facing application.
This position will provide Production Support / System Administration for my application. It will also guide developers, but not physically touch code in the development environments. Therefore, the candidate must have experience as a Linux system admin and knowledge of Apache Tomcat and Red Hat operating systems, Java / JavaScript, and Oracle application development.
Senior level ( 10 years' experience) in large, UNIX / LINUX environments as System Administrator or Network Administrator. Detailed expertise in command line interface and scripting languages. Installing, configuring, and maintaining various components of LINUX operating systems. Intimate knowledge of file permissions and group and user security issues. Maintaining comprehensive documentation of processes and system configurations. Planning and implementing system upgrades, including hardware and software. Providing technical support and guidance to users and other administrators.
Required (hard) skills / experience
- UNIX / SHELL SCRIPTS
- Group and user account management in LINUX environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux File System Hierarchy and directories like / bin, / etc., / home, and / var.
- System and event management monitoring and logging systems ( SPLUNK).
- SQL knowledge and skills ( Oracle or Teradata).
- Java / JavaScript
- Command line editing ( vi editor)
- Prior significance operating with the root level directory permissions.
- System security experience working with SSH and sudo commands and familiarity with Power Broker concepts.
- Job automation and scheduling tools like Autosys or CA7. Shell scripting experience with SED.
- Apache Tomcat
- Red Hat operating systems
