Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Torque Specialist for a 1-year W2 contract (possibility of extension) job with a client in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This position involves overseeing the implementation of torque tools in an automotive manufacturing setting, ensuring the proper commissioning of bolts during new vehicle launches. Typical work schedule for this position will be Monday – Friday 8-hour shifts (40-hour work week). This contract position includes 12 days of PTO.

Rate Range: $38.00/hour to $43.00/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Manufacturing Engineer - Torque Specialist job responsibilities include:
- The primary responsibility for this position will be to manage the implementation of torque-controlled tools and equipment using the required criteria from company standards. This includes pre-construction and construction activities between engineers, inspectors, and contractors.
- Create a continuous improvement environment to develop best in class production system.
- Coordinate activities with the maintenance and production team to minimize production delays due to equipment issues.
- Develop systems to meet KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements.
- Identify requirements for vehicle structure to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost in all departments within the automotive facility.
- Monitor safety, quality, cost, and productivity, with improvement activities for assigned areas of production.
- Provide direction and assistance to analyze production issues, propose countermeasures, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with other production departments, quality, pilot hall, R&D, production control, maintenance and engineering to provide best in class product quality.
- Implement training plans to improve overall organizational capability production departments.
- Lead Engineering activities in processing model changes/ investigations.
- Prepare clear and well-written communications on behalf of senior management. Prepare and coordinate various reports, presentations and documents with the departments by gathering data and/or preparing PowerPoint slides.
- Manage torque and tool related data and feedback to management. Analyze related torque and tool statistical data and report concerns to management.
- Provide technical support and guidance to torque team members using appropriate company standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Educational Requirement: Mechanical Engineering degree
- 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Mechanical engineering knowledge to understand joint materials and friction, as well as data tracking skills.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
