Job Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Production Specialist (ITAR) for a contract-to-hire position with a client in a strategic location.
The Manufacturing Production Specialist will be responsible for developing and sustaining manufacturing assembly processes, alignment processes, and test processes while working collaboratively with the Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain manufacturing processes using manufacturing equipment, custom fixturing, and manual methods
- Write detailed assembly and test procedures and train production technicians
- Analyze production and field failures and provide root cause corrective action
- Help improve production rates, efficiencies, yields, and costs
- Provide efficient response to troubleshoot day-to-day process and equipment issues
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of mechanical materials
- Optical design experience a plus
- Experience in lean manufacturing practices
- Experience in assembly process standardization
- Working knowledge of best-in-class assembly practices
- Working knowledge of component and assembly test methodologies
- Ability to conduct root cause and corrective action for failed components and assemblies
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to use mechanical solid modeling software SOLIDWORKS to review drawings and assemblies
- Ability to design mechanical fixtures and tools to support production assembly and tests
- Ability to write detailed assembly and test procedures using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
