Akkodis is seeking a Packaging Engineer for an 8-month contract with a client in Batesville IN 47006-Hybrid.

Location: Batesville IN 47006-Hybrid
Contract: 8 months Contract
Pay Rate: $38-40/hr (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Job Description:
As part of the sustaining engineering team, you will be responsible for design changes for medical device products such as hospital beds and equipment. The engineering design changes may be related to design improvements, new compliance requirements, or supply chain support.
Responsibilities:
- Perform packaging design and engineering release for small to medium projects.
- Investigate product damage during shipping and develop corrective actions.
- Develop verification and validation plans for new packaging designs.
- Implement design changes for product and accessory packaging.
- Generate feasibility assessments, product risk documentation, DFMEA, and cost estimates.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Share technical knowledge and guide team members in areas of expertise.
- Identify creative methods to improve performance and challenge established work processes.
- Provide proactive updates on developments or issues affecting project timelines.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or technical degree with 5 years of packaging design experience.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the medical device industry and FDA regulations.
- Familiarity with ISTA standards for evaluating packaging designs.
- Experience in product packaging for container shipping.
- Proficiency in Solid Edge and root cause analysis tools (5-why, fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, fault trees).
- Expertise in documenting designs, risk analysis, and testing requirements.
