Network Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a highly skilled Senior F5 Engineer for a leading client located in Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, or Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid). We’re looking for an expert in F5 Load Balancing technologies (LTM, GTM) and iRules scripting, with a strong grasp of TCP/IP network communications. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, solution architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions that support the client’s high-demand environments.

Rate Range: $62 per hour to $70 per hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, configure, and manage F5 LTM and GTM appliances to support enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain complex F5 iRules to control application traffic flow and manipulate headers as required.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and optimization of network and application delivery issues.
• Collaborate with solution architects, application teams, and project managers to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Ensure load balancing solutions align with Bank of America’s security and compliance standards.
• Participate in high-availability and disaster recovery planning related to load balancing infrastructure.
• Document all solutions, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Expert-level knowledge of F5 technologies: Local Traffic Manager (LTM), Global Traffic Manager (GTM), and iRules scripting.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, DNS, and other network protocols.
• Hands-on experience with configuring and tuning advanced load balancing and application delivery settings.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in explaining complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with security principles related to network traffic and application access.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or equivalent certification.
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid architectures.
• Experience in financial or large-scale enterprise environments is a plus.
