Akkodis is seeking a QA Analyst for a contract job with a client in Plano, TX (hybrid). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that web service APIs meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Your primary focus will be on testing middleware applications built using the MuleSoft platform, specifically working with SOAP/REST services and gateway authentication patterns.
Rate Range: $50 hour to $55 hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using UFT (Quick Test Pro) and SOATest to validate web service APIs.
- Conduct functional and non-functional testing of SOAP/REST services and middleware applications built on the MuleSoft platform.
- Ensure all APIs meet compliance, security, and performance standards.
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and define test strategies.
- Perform test planning, test scripting, test execution, and defect management to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues, providing detailed reports on test results and defects found.
- Continuously improve automation test suites to optimize efficiency and coverage.
- Engage in discussions with stakeholders to identify potential risks and propose solutions during the QA process.
- Provide clear and concise test documentation and ensure it is updated throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on the progress of testing activities, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of work experience in software testing.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with UFT (Quick Test Pro) for test automation.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in functional/manual testing for web and middleware applications.
- Strong expertise in QTP/UFT (Quick Test Pro) for test automation.
- Proven experience with SOATest for service and API testing.
- A deep understanding of SOAP, REST, HTTP, JSON, XML, and security patterns.
- Proven experience in test planning, test scripting, test execution, and defect management.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Octane & ALM/ML QC.
- Familiarity with Oracle/SQL/SPLUNK for data querying and analysis
- Test Automation experience.
