Akkodis is seeking a Scrum Master for a contract job with a client in Phoenix, AZ (hybrid). The ideal candidate for this Scrum Master position must have a strong understanding of Agile fundamentals, combined with technical acumen. They will be responsible for managing scrum ceremonies for multiple agile teams, ensuring that commitments and sprint plans are finalized in collaboration with tech teams from a technical perspective, as part of PI Readiness.
Rate Range: $70 hour to $80 hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Scrum Master will work across teams to anticipate, track, and resolve risks and impediments to delivery, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Provide servant leadership, embodying and promoting Scrum and Agile values through leading by example.
- Guide and coach the Scrum Team and the organization on Agile/Scrum practices while ensuring delivery commitments are met.
- Help teams self-organize, bridging intentional gaps in Agile/Scrum frameworks.
- Assess and elevate Scrum maturity across teams and the organization at a sustainable and comfortable pace.
- Proactively remove impediments or guide the team to resolve them efficiently by identifying appropriate resources.
- Foster a trusting and safe environment for open communication, problem-solving, and collaborative decision-making.
- Facilitate work execution without coercion or dictation while resolving conflicts constructively.
- Support Product Owners in refining and managing the product backlog effectively.
- Drive key Train ceremonies, including PI Planning preparation and execution, and assist with creating a Program Backlog.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years of experience as Scrum Master, demonstrating a strong track record of leading Agile teams to deliver high-quality products, meet delivery commitments, and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies, including SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
- Hands-on experience with BI tools, MS Office, Visio, MS Project, SharePoint, One Drive, and MS Teams.
- Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira for backlog management and project tracking.
- Strong leadership skills in leading discussions and creating clear, concise documentation.
- Ability to enhance processes and improve efficiency.
- Willingness to facilitate learning and empower team members through "Train the Trainer" initiatives.
- Expertise in Jira, including hands-on experience and report generation.
- Proven ability to facilitate core agile practices, including Servant Leadership, Feature, and story backlog prioritization and refinement.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile methodology, software development, and testing processes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong experience with Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning.
- Proficiency in guiding teams to develop and maintain a Program Backlog.
- Familiarity with various scaled Agile frameworks and tools to support enterprise-level initiatives.
