Senior Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer 3 for a Contract job with a client in Bloomfield CT 06002 (Onsite). The ideal candidate must have experience with CAD related design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program / product requirements.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Design Engineer 3

• The Engineer will be responsible for the CAD-related design, development, and manufacturing implementation of engineering programs that meet business standards and program / product requirements.
• Execute designs with solid modeling software (PTC Creo / Windchill) to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and BOMs for designs which may include plastic, stamped metal, and electrically conductive parts and familiarity with SAP for supply chain management and process flow
• Create and maintain technical documentation for all design work and present material for technical review including but not limited to tolerance loops, drawings, bill of materials, product cost, problem and action lists, risk management, and failure root cause analysis reviews.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical /electrical engineering, or similar and minimum 3 years design engineering experience, including product development of industrial and/or electrical distribution products
• Background in Low Voltage Switchboards or similar, UL 891, UL 50/50E and NEC preferred.
• Clear communication, strong collaborative skills across functions and within global teams
