Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Mansfield, MA. The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering and experience working in the medical device industry.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to maintain and improve manufacturing processes.
- Design, specify, develop, and purchase manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Manage the implementation and validation of new or modified manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Support and guide transfers within the plant and externally with suppliers.
- Select and validate replacement materials used in product manufacture.
- Write and implement manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
- Create, update, and maintain bills of materials, routers, and DMRs.
- Provide process engineering knowledge and oversight to resolve manufacturing-related problems.
- Champion improvement processes for rework, scrap, and labor variance reduction/elimination.
- Support Material Review Board process by investigating and resolving manufacturing and supplier quality concerns.
- Identify and provide innovative manufacturing technologies from industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 6 years of engineering industry experience required.
- Experience in the medical device industry required.
- Knowledge of GMPs, ISO 13485 Design Control, and Manufacturing Process IQ/OQ/PO qualifications as related to medical devices required.
- Working knowledge in manufacturing processes such as metal processing (machining, polishing, welding), plastics processing, and mechanical assembly required.
- Working knowledge of machine and tool design, equipment design, and startup of new equipment preferred.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment preferred.
- Six Sigma Statistical Process Analysis knowledge required with certification preferred.
- Mentor and assist Blackbelts/Greenbelts on projects as needed.
- Knowledge on how to troubleshoot and analyze effectiveness of manufacturing processes required.
- Experience implementing actions to improve equipment uptime, yield, efficiencies, and quality of production required.
- Experience with Lean Mfg and Continuous Improvement Methods preferred.
- Knowledge of financial accounting and analysis methods to assess product standard costs, project values, product cost improvements, and capital purchases required.
- Strong communication, team building, and cross-functional coordination skills required.
- Experience with Agile and Oracle data systems preferred.
