Senior Physical Data Modeler job responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, and documenting physical data models using relational, NoSQL, and dimensional databases to support business intelligence, data science, and other enterprise needs.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and ensuring their synchronization with implemented databases.
- Providing guidance to other data modelers and overseeing the management of data dictionaries and ontologies.
- Working with platform engineering teams to drive automation in data modeling activities and troubleshooting discrepancies in implemented systems.
- Ensuring data models are optimized and meet the business requirements by evaluating performance and identifying improvements.
- Maintaining close interactions with stakeholders to refine and deploy data models in production.
Desired Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 10 years of work experience in physical data modeling, including data integration and model optimization.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with business stakeholders in the utilities industry.
- At least 2 years of experience working with Snowflake for creating and implementing physical database designs.
