Position Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team part-time. As the first point of contact for families and visitors, you will play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our patients. You will provide administrative support, manage scheduling, and assist with various office tasks to ensure the clinic operates smoothly.
Responsibilities
Front Desk Management:
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Manage medical scheduling, ensuring appointments are booked efficiently.
- Verify insurance information and handle any related inquiries.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before patient visits.
- Utilize phone systems to answer calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages.
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with health information management standards.
- Assist with office management tasks to ensure a well-functioning clinic environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding dental terminology and procedures.
- Support the team in using Athenahealth software for patient management.
- Schedule and confirm therapy appointments, maintaining an organized calendar.
- Communicate appointment reminders and address rescheduling needs.
- Assist therapists and office staff with administrative tasks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with staff to coordinate patient care.
Skills
- Proficiency in insurance verification processes.
- Strong office management skills to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Experience in documentation review to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Previous experience in a clinic setting is advantageous.
