Overview
The primary focus of a controls technician is to layout and wire contol panels with a combination of low and high voltage wioring and compontents to exact specifications provided on engineering drawings.

Technicians can expect to work alone or in small teams depending on the complexity of the build and often teh size of the enclosure. Work required is highly detailed and technical, making one's attention to detail critcal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical engineering drawings and build to technical specifications
• Layout and execute through-enclosure penetrations using hand and power tools such as knockout tool and jigsaw according to engineering drawings
• Layout and assemble interior of enclosure with electrical components and wireways (Panduit)
• Ensure proper wiring and operation of shut-offs and safety components prior to testing with pre- testing routine.
• On-machine wiring of equipment to integrate controls system and machine
• Overtime work is occasionally necessary
• High level of attention to detail to assemblies
• Ability to acquire working knowledge of equipment manufacturing process, especially as it pertains to the operation of the controls system.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 years experience in a similar role
• Be able to work overtime when needed
• Use the required tools necessary (drill, jigsaw)
• Able to read drawings and wire appropriately
