Job Description Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our growing Supply Chain team as Inventory & Receiving Specialist for Reagents and Instruments. As an Inventory & Receiving specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels and effectively managing the receipt of purchase orders to ensure efficient supply chain operations. You will be responsible for receiving incoming purchase orders, inspection and documentation of goods receive, processing day-to-day inventory transactions, conducting regular cycle counts, pulling expired and obsolete material, putting away inventory, and collaborating with supporting teams on projects. The Inventory & Receiving specialist plays a crucial role in minimizing stock discrepancies, maximizing stock availability, and a key contributor to continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Storage
- Responsible for receiving and stocking inventory, including raw material, semi-finished goods and finished goods in accordance with their required quality control standards and according to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system
- Responsible for stocking field replacement spare parts and instrument inventory
- Responsible for creating and maintaining system inventory locations
- Responsible for the processing of non-cycle count related inventory adjustments
Inventory Monitoring
- Regularly monitor and update inventory in NetSuite to reflect accurate stock levels
- Recommend inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and losses
- Recommend receiving control measures where gaps exist in the process to minimize misplaced stock
Auditing and Reconciliation
- Responsible for conducting cycle counts in accordance with the team’s published schedule
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records
- Required participation as the lead team for End of Year physical inventory count
Quality Control:
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain quality standards
- Monitor product expiration dates and handle disposal of expired or unusable reagents
Collaboration:
- Work closely with Reagent Procurement, Reagent Manufacturing, and the Warehouse team to ensure receiving or inventory related actions are investigated or addressed in a timely manner
- Work closely with the Instrument Management team and Warehouse manager to align instrument inventory space requirements
Documentation:
- Maintain detailed records of all purchase order receipts and organize records in a systematic way that enables the team to quickly investigate discrepancies
Continuous Improvement:
- Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing the inventory management processes
Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications/Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in supply chain management, inventory management or a related field is a plus; minimum of 2 years on job experience
- Proven experience with inventory management, preferably in a Biotech setting
- Familiarity with laboratory reagents, instruments, and related supplies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with using an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP), NetSuite is a plus
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
The hiring range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00 per hour, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
