Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct thorough financial audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights on variances.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including monitoring debits and credits.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other relevant accounting standards.
- Utilize Sage software for financial reporting and data management.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering professional development within the team.
- Prepare documentation for governmental accounting requirements, including LIHTC projects.
- Provide expertise in wills, trusts, and estate law as applicable to financial planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives through sound financial advice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting roles with a solid understanding of financial report writing.
- Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, governmental accounting practices, and LIHTC regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage; experience with other ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior team members effectively.
- Familiarity with estate planning concepts including wills and trusts is advantageous.
