The Water Resources group at AKRF is seeking a Senior Engineer to be based out of the Pittsburgh, PA office. This individual will serve a key function in the design and management of a broad range of projects for both our municipal and private sector clients. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of the region.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide project and technical management of major engineering design projects including site layout, grading, drainage/storm sewer systems, stormwater management, erosion & sediment pollution control, traffic control, and related supporting disciplines.
- Lead/support tasks including preparation of site/civil engineering drawings, specifications and reports for projects.
- Lead/support tasks including preparation of permit packages and municipal land development applications for projects.
- Lead/support project management responsibilities including managing discrete technical tasks, project schedule, and task budgets.
- Day-to-day project communication and coordination with clients and other design consultants.
- Assist in proposal writing.
- Provide direction, delegation, mentoring, and training to staff engineers.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline
- Pennsylvania P.E. or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essential
- Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis/modeling preferred
- Experience with municipal ordinances, PennDOT standards, and Pennsylvania regulatory agency guidelines preferred
- Land development experience on renewable energy projects is a plus
- Experience integrating geospatial data/GIS in the infrastructure planning and design workflow is a plus
- Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Superior attention to detail and organizational ability
- Must have a valid driver’s license
