We are seeking a Human Resource Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources and practices. The Human Resource Managers will serve as a business partner to the leadership team and be responsible for the HR functions as it relates to recruitment, onboarding, development and engagement of talent, employee relations, implementation and administration of human resources programs and employment policies, personnel record-keeping, and compliance with federal/state laws and regulations.
PROFILE
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Partner with CEO to identify and interview Management candidates to ensure a match for business needs and culture.
- Support leaders to proactively fill open roles and pipeline candidates in the market for future openings for all areas of the business – including referrals of candidates to other local stores based off organizational and business needs.
- Respond to all hiring inquiries to positively represent our brand to all candidates.
- Work closely with the management team to conduct robust new hire onboarding and induction.
Employee Relations
- Recommend, implement, and interpret HR employment policies and procedures.
- Manage and advise on employee relations issues and support leadership team on employee coaching, counseling, problem solving, and providing conflict resolution for personnel issues, in partnership with CEO & HQ HR Team.
- In partnership with the CEO, investigate all employee concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as with Akris policies and procedures and their communication to employees.
- Establish and maintain guidelines/communication for HR topics to support team.
Administrative
- Guide the functional new hire process for all employees including securing applications, completing background checks, new hire paperwork, IT request follow up and follow through of the full hiring process.
- Work closely and partner with VP Finance & Operations on notifications of any leave of absence requests, worker’s compensation intake, benefits & compensation, payroll inquiries and all other related HR matters.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports, including responsibility for maintaining personnel records; time keeping, reconciliation of hours and HR related forms.
- Run bi-weekly Payroll.
- Mange Internal Communication and Announcements.
- Respond to routine HR questions including payroll, benefits, PTO etc.
- Support employee Benefit enrollment/questions.
Organization Culture, Training and Development
- Responsible for supporting retention, identification of talent, succession planning, career discussions with employees, Performance reviews, etc.
- Develop, review and update talent management policies and procedures to ensure alignment with company culture and organization goals, fostering a fair, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
- Determine agency staff training and development needs, identify resources and coordinate implementation of training, and conduct training if needed.
- Promote company culture by maintaining open communication and frequent feedback between employees and leaders.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources or related discipline required
Special Skills:
- Must be able to work autonomously
- Proficiency in Excel and other Windows software
- Be able to work independently on multiple assigned tasks/projects and complete assignments within specified deadlines
- Experience working with a diverse workforce
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate interactions with the workforce
- Excellent organization and time management abilities
- Ability to take initiative and make sound business decisions
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources; retail specialty or luxury environment preferred.
- PHR, SPHR or PHR-CA Certification preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitive information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills
- Strong ability to drive for results without compromising ethics and quality
- Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of settings, adjusting the message to match the audience.
