The Akron RubberDucks (Double-A Affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians) is seeking a highly skilled Promotions & Community Relations Director to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing and executing promotional strategies to enhance brand visibility and increase audience engagement. He/she will thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment where they must solve problems, think fast and make sound decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Planning and executing all 69 promotional nights, including Main Street Festivals - work with City of Akron on street closures and secure family-friendly entertainment/activities
• Ordering and designing giveaways and promo jerseys; book national acts; securing approvals from celebrities to use their likeness for planned giveaways and events
• Create and execute in game promotions and on field contests
• Create scripts, write PA's, work with PA announcer to ensure understanding of each game
• Interview & manage promo crew - QuAkron Crew Promo Team
• Oversee game day set up and execution while working with creative services department to ensure game is ready to go from "upstairs"
• Lead weekly promotions meetings during the offseason
• Manage mascots during games and coordinate mascot requests, budget for appearances and coordinate and/ or from time to time serve as the handler for the mascot for public appearances;
• Help in planning events-national anthem auditions, mascot auditions, movie night activities/décor etc.
• Book national anthems, color guards, pre-game entertainment -including bands, face painters, etc.
• Work with clients, of all levels, to ensure their in-game/promotional partnerships are executed
• Creating trade deals and form relationships with local marketing outlets and publications
• Responsible for hitting sales goal as a member of the Sales team
• Serve as a representative for the team at community events and ensure the RubberDucks have a significant presence at local events;
• Create and cultivate partnerships with local nonprofits, public schools, private schools and colleges/universities in the Greater Akron area;
• Overseeing fundraising programs including fundraising tickets and Plinko; develop new ways for nonprofits to fundraise utilizing the ballpark;
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of promotions.
• Develop and manage the promotional budget to ensure cost-effective campaigns
• Provide reports and insights to senior management with recommendations for improvement.
• Leverage social media, email marketing, and other digital platforms to amplify promotional efforts.
• Collaborate with departments for fundraising initiatives and to ensure all contractual community related activations are completed;
• Coordinate speaking engagements for the leadership team; work with Coordinator, Promotions & Community Relations to plan and implement staff volunteer opportunities
• Manage player appearances and provide transportation to and from events; organize autograph sessions with players on game days;
• Work as a valuable member of the Front Office team - assist with any additional non-game day events;
• Collaborate with the digital marketing team to create engaging promotions

REQUIREMENTS
• 3 -5 years of experience successfully leading a promotions team.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in sports or entertainment industry experience
• Strong problem solving, attention to detail, execution, management and customer service skills with the ability to identify and develop relationships with potential clients and vendors.
• Experience overseeing social media platforms.
• Good time-management skills with the ability to multitask various projects and deadlines.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
