What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Selector position at Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank?
The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank seeks an enthusiastic, service-oriented team player to serve as an Order Selector on our Warehouse Team. This a vital role in supporting our Agencies by ensuring we have quality products available for pickup to Feed People and Fight Hunger throughout our eight-county service area. A high degree of integrity, enthusiasm, relationship building, service, flexibility and warehousing skills are required for success in this position. This a full-time position 40 hours, Monday through Friday 10am- 6pm with some overtime opportunity throughout the week and some Saturdays to support volunteer food repack projects in the Warehouse. $19.00/hr
Job Responsibilities:
- Pick agency orders and place in staging area for distribution
- Operate tow motor, lift truck and/ or pallet riders to assist in the distribution of goods
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience by demonstrating commitment to excellence and service while interacting with agencies
- Provide professional, courteous and friendly interactions with employees and agencies
- Perform daily housekeeping as directed by warehouse leadership
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Additionally, the minimum qualifications include a High School diploma and one to three years of directly related experience in a warehouse environment preferred (dry, refrigerated and frozen food distribution warehouse); ability to lift and/or move up to 50-100 lbs. on a daily basis; must be able to count and have basic math skills to bin slot product; commitment to outstanding customer service with a passion for working with people; comfort and willingness to operate or to be trained to operate a pallet jack or tow motor; ability to flex work schedule to support various Foodbank special events and initiatives; ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals; commitment to understanding and supporting the Foodbank’s mission, showing compassion and appreciation for hunger issues.
