Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and maintaining lab equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency in research and testing processes. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. The lab technician will be required to learn and operate plating lines and run parts throughout the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and analyses following standard operating procedures.
- Prepare, label, and process specimens for testing.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
- Record and analyze data accurately, maintaining detailed documentation.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and regulations.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and report any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School Diploma Required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and standard procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety guidelines and best practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work is primarily performed in a laboratory but will also require physical labor activites including plating, maintenance and clean out of tanks.
- Will need to be able to repeatedly lift items over 50lbs.
- May require standing for extended periods and handling hazardous materials.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, lab coats, and safety goggles.
