The Akron Board of Education announces an anticipated opening for an Elementary Dean of Students, Job Code 046, Time Schedule 422 (210 days), Salary Range TBD, Collective Bargaining Unit - none. This is a State Teacher Retirement position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Must have administrative license;
- Current Ohio Teaching License;
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience.
- Ohio Elementary Principal License
- A commitment to working with students, professionals and community members in a multi-cultural setting;
- Knowledge of positive behavior supports and discipline procedures;
- Knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy of involving school-level employees in a process of site-based decision-making.
- Assists the principal in the general administration of the school;
- Temporarily assumes the responsibility of the principal when so directed;
- Assists with administering school regulations regarding attendance;
- Assists in leading school climate initiatives;
- Assists with ordering supplies, books and equipment, conducting inventories and maintaining records;
- Assists the principal in completing school forms for central office and State Department of Education;
- Confers with non-professional staff on matters that relate to the daily operation of the school;
- Assists the principal with staff meetings;
- Promotes effective community relationships; and
- Reports to and carries out any other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal.
