QUALIFICATIONS - Required:
- Valid State of Ohio Certification/Licensure for an Elementary School Principal.
- Experience in evaluating existing curricula and providing leadership in the review and development of school-wide curricula;
- Knowledge of and commitment to developmental supervision theory and its application;
- Knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy of involving school-level employees in a process of site-based decision-making.
- On behalf of the Board of Education, assumes the total educational and physical responsibility for the school building;
- Initiates, interprets, and implements Board and building policies, procedures, rules and regulations for the orderly operation of the school;
- Provides for the development of staff through both a program of supervisory activities and the teacher and other staff appraisal programs;
- Coordinates the development of the master schedule, teacher schedules and student schedules;
- Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct and well-being of students;
- Coordinates, promotes and supervises the program of co-curricular activities;
- Develops effective community relations through appropriate interaction with students, parents, PTA and community groups;
- Gives leadership and direction to the ancillary staff to provide maximum services to the student body and professional staff;
- Evaluates the physical condition of the building and coordinates custodial services with the head custodian;
- Oversees the school budget and authorizes all expenditures and requisitions;
- Coordinates fund raising and oversees management of student activity funds;
- Assumes all other duties assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
- Reports to Executive Director, Elementary Schools.
