The position of Academy Principal is an integral role in establishing how academies operate and function. The Academy Principal will lead and support their academy within the building. By providing the necessary structures, students will be provided equitable access of pathways which promote success. The Academy Principal will engage stakeholders and partners in creating a culture of trust through communication and collaboration. Therefore, the Academy Principal will work continuously with the Campus Principal to analyze resources to ensure they support the needs of the academy.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Valid State of Ohio Certification/Licensure for High School Principal.
- Minimum of one year leadership/supervisory role in an educational setting.
Desired:

- Knowledge of and commitment to Effective Schools’ research and its application;
- Knowledge of and commitment to the philosophy of involving school-level employees in a process of site-based decision-making;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for and provides administrative direction to all professional and classified staff, students and community;
- Initiates, interprets, and implements Board and building policies, procedures, rules and regulations for the orderly operation of the school;
- Provides leadership and planning, developing and improving all school improvement processes and school improvement plans;
- Provides leadership in designing and implementing professional development programs for all classified and non-classified staff;
- Creates the master schedule for the academy, the preparation of teacher schedules, the preparation of student schedules, and report card processing;
- Collaborates with academies to create a detailed sharing/usage agreement;
- Collaborates with Academy Principals to coordinate calendar of activities and events;
- Supervises and evaluates secretaries, clerical and educational assistants, teachers and tutors;
- Responsible for daily operations of academy;
- Interprets school programs to parents and community;
- Plans and administers academy activities (i.e. assemblies, concerts, plays, etc..);
- Coordinates, promotes and supervises all co-curricular activities;
- Assumes total responsibility for testing and test security;
- Administers school and systems regulations regarding attendance and student conduct;
- Assists in the evaluation, review and development of the curricula in the building;
- Assists parent, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives in relation to academy pathways;
- Takes responsibility for curriculum materials for all academic programs, both consumable and non-consumable and supplies for office, staff and custodians;
- Coordinates fundraising and oversees management of student activity funds.
