Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated FTIR Analyst to join our Chemical Services Department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in an analytical chemistry environment and is eager to expand their expertise in FTIR polymer analysis. The FTIR Analyst will be responsible for conducting material identification, interpreting spectral data, and contributing to a collaborative, high-energy laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
FTIR Testing & Interpretation:
- Perform FTIR analysis on polymer and chemical materials, ensuring accuracy and reliability in results.
- Interpret FTIR spectra and apply analytical chemistry principles to solve material-related challenges.
Problem-Solving & Method Development:
- Apply critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills to troubleshoot spectral anomalies.
- Assist in refining FTIR methods and expanding testing capabilities within polymer analysis.
- Collaboration & Team Contribution:
- Work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative while supporting shared goals.
- Help foster a positive, energetic work environment that promotes continuous learning and innovation.
Quality & Attention to Detail:
- Maintain rigorous attention to detail in testing, data interpretation, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and laboratory standards in FTIR analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
- BA/BS degree in Chemistry (or a related field) or equivalent experience in a chemical/analytical laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with FTIR polymer analysis and material characterization.
- Strong problem-solving skills in analytical chemistry with a desire to expand expertise in polymer analysis.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative.
