What are the responsibilities and job description for the Off-duty Akron Police Officers position at Akron-Summit County Public Library?
Duties include patrolling Library buildings, grounds, and parking lots; monitoring electronic or video security system; observing customer behavior and intervening when problems occur as directed by Library staff; advising Library customers of behavior guidelines and enforcing those guidelines; helping with the evacuation or movement of the employees and public in emergency situations; and completing incident reports as necessary.
Candidates must be Akron Police Officers. Compensation is established by the City of Akron Chief's Directive for off-duty police jobs. In addition to the hourly rate, the Library also contributes to the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
