Position: Employment Relationship Specialist, DOL Program
Dept/Program: Workforce Development
Reports To: Senior Program Manager

Job Summary:
The Employment Relationship Specialist assists program Participants with employment readiness and retention. They develop strong relationships with employers to ensure training is market-driven and that participants have the skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Employment Relationship Specialists will be measured on job placement, retention, and progression.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities include:
· Interact with employers to elicit job opportunities for participants.
· Provide job placement assistance to participants including creating resumes and conducting mock interviews.
· Utilize pre-screening tools to assess career readiness skills of participants.
· Connect participants to available certification programs in a variety of areas.
· Assist participants with understanding how to engage appropriately with employers to increase their chances for employment success.
· Collaborate with community partners to support sustainable workforce development training and resources for participants.
· Facilitate trainings and workshops.
· Meet regularly with participants to support retention.
· Coordinate job fairs.
· Conduct employer site visits.
· Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.

Qualifications: Four-year degree preferred or minimum 2 years full-time experience in job development, human resources, job placement, or closely related field; experience working with at-risk population a plus. Microsoft Office proficient; possession of a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and transportation, as position requires travel within the State of Ohio with mostly local travel; fingerprint and background checks conducted.
Competencies: Knowledge of local economic and labor market conditions and trends; effective techniques for contacting potential employers; skills and knowledge in job development and job placement techniques, ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with participants, employers, staff, and community partners; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to work independently; monitor, track and compile statistical information; follow written and oral instructions.
