The Akron Zoo is seeking a Custodial candidate :
Custodial will be responsible for routine and restorative custodial work and assisting in event set up and tear down. This role will assist in required routine cleaning and trash pickup. This position will be responsible for assisting in snow mitigation as needed.
- Maintain a clean and presentable park.
- Event Assistance :
- Transports and set up / teardown of event infrastructure, i.e., tables, chairs, tents, etc. With the aid of a variety of gas, diesel, and electric vehicles, ranging from golf carts, UTVs, and skid steer type equipment.
- Trained to handle and respond to bio-hazard spills in the park
- Plows or shovels snow and applies de-icing to pathways or building entrances. May use snowplows, snow throwers and salt spreaders.
- Additional duties as assigned.

This is a Full-time, Non-Exempt, Collective Bargaining position with benefits. Hourly pay for this position ranges from $18.00-$19.00 / hour based on experience as per union contract. This position includes working weekends, holidays, and evenings. Must have a valid Ohio Driver License. 18 or over to apply. Open until filled.
Normal Operations Hours : Wednesday - Sunday, 3 : 00pm – 12 : 00am (midnight)
Normal Operations Days Off : Monday & Tuesday
