- Inventory Management:
Monitor stock levels of roofing materials like shingles, membranes, underlayment, flashing, and accessories to maintain optimal inventory and prevent stockouts.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to verify accuracy of inventory data.
- Manage incoming inventory, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Coordinate with sales and project management teams to forecast demand and plan inventory levels.
- Warehouse Operations:
Supervise warehouse staff, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Implement and maintain proper storage practices to protect roofing materials from damage.
- Manage warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize storage capacity.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring proper handling and secure packaging of materials.
- Order Fulfillment:
Process job orders/pull lists accurately and timely, ensuring each pull is labeled correctly.
- Delivery materials to job sites as needed.
- Resolve any order discrepancies or issues related to deliveries.
- Safety and Compliance:
Enforce strict safety procedures within the warehouse to prevent accidents, including proper lifting techniques and forklift operation.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety training for warehouse staff.
- Maintenance and Facility Management:
Oversee routine maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities, including fleet management.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance of all equipment/vehicles with vendors as needed.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean and organized.
- Experience: Prior experience in warehouse management, preferably within the roofing industry.
- Leadership skills: Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of warehouse workers.
