Position Overview:
Aksia is seeking an Associate to join our Private Markets Risk team for portfolio management operations of our private credit and private equity interval funds. This position will be responsible for the flow of data from pipeline activities, new investments, daily portfolio updates, and collaborating with both Aksia professionals and our external partners. This person will maintain a data-driven view while involved with our implementation of a new portfolio management system and building dashboards and reporting from the data in this system. The ideal candidate will be attentive to detail, initiative-taking, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be based in Aksia’s Chicago office and will include regular interaction with global colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee deal closing process for each new investment, including reading deal agreements, capturing key terms, and interfacing with our external partners.
- Calculate, prepare, and distribute monthly reports to external parties for marketing uses, fund leverage facilities, and fund reporting requirements.
- Responsible for the daily information flow from Aksia and its systems to external parties.
- Become an expert with our portfolio management software; this person will drive platform usage and collaborate with other departments to create dashboards and reports.
- Collaborate on special projects with senior portfolio managers as needed.
- Work cross-functionally with risk professionals focused on co-investment monitoring for Aksia clients.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of accounting or operations experience at a fund administrator, asset manager, accounting firm, or other financial institution preferred.
- Industry knowledge and experience with private credit or private equity funds.
- Knowledge of portfolio management software or database design considered a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly attentive to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel & Word.
