Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of People & HR to join our team. As a global Head of HR, the ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the human resources function across multiple countries and regions. Your primary focus will be on developing and executing the global HR strategy, driving HR initiatives, and ensuring alignment with business goals. You will provide strategic leadership, collaborate with regional HR teams, and work closely with senior management to optimize HR practices globally. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of global HR practices, and the ability to navigate complex international HR landscapes. This role will report to the CEO.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the global HR strategy, aligning with business objectives and driving cultural alignment across regions
- Drive the implementation and standardization of HR policies, processes, and programs globally
- Collaborate with senior management and, from time to time, board members to align HR initiatives with business goals, foster employee engagement, and drive talent management strategies
- Connect our team members to our mission and increase our team's ability to deliver
- Attract and hire amazing talent globally, foster a self-learning culture, and create environments for teams to accomplish greater things together
- Lead and support organizational development and change management initiatives globally
- Drive the development and implementation of global HR programs, such as performance management, and employee development, reinforcing Aktiia as a great place to work for everyone
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and employment practices across various jurisdictions
- Develop and monitor key HR metrics to assess HR effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including dispute resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations
- Manage and oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance globally
- Stay informed about industry best practices, employment trends, and emerging HR technologies
- Manage relationships with internal Finance department as well as external vendors and, such as HR consultants and service providers, to ensure effective Payroll & HR service delivery
- Stay updated with changes in global HR regulations and labor laws, ensuring compliance and mitigating HR-related risks
- Proven experience as a Global Head of HR or similar leadership role, overseeing HR functions across multiple countries and regions
- In-depth knowledge of global HR practices, employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience in leading talent acquisition to attract top tier hires globally
- Strong understanding of HR processes, policies, and programs across different jurisdictions
- Experience working in diverse cultural environments, managing cross-cultural teams, and fostering global collaboration
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across regions
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive HR initiatives and optimize HR practices globally
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Proven track record in implementing and driving HR programs/policies (especially in Europe and US), such as talent management, performance management, and employee development
- Ability to navigate complex international HR landscapes, adapt to changing regulations, and manage HR-related risks
- Experience in helping lead global expansion - opening new offices, staffing remote teams, and maintaining global culture
- Experience building and retaining diverse multicultural workforces, worldwide
- Proficient in using HRIS systems and HR analytics tools for data-driven decision-making
- Relevant certifications in HR or related fields are advantageous
- Startup and scaleup experience having helped transition orgs and cultures past growth inflection points
- Proficiency in French
- Experience operating in a regulated product category
