Job Description
You will operate from the Akuo Texas office and Hybrid.
As the new Compliance Manager you will manage, oversee and coordinate Akuoās, our affiliates and 3rd party customersā ISO-RTO, NERC and other regulatory agenciesā compliance activities.
You will work directly with the Asset Management & Operations (AM&O) Team, compliance stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to implement and maintain a sustainable culture of compliance with all NERC, FERC, RTO/ISO and other government requirements.Ā
Thus, your main tasks & responsabilities will be:
- Develop, implement, and update internal compliance programs,
- Analyze data, develop/modify reports, and compare processes and procedures to industry/compliance best practices,
- Prepare and submit compliance reports required by regulatory agencies,
- Conduct mock audits to test programs and operations,
- Lead external audits, self-certifications and regulatory inspections,
- Develop and communicate regulatory processes, guidelines and needs to a wide range of audiences,
- Work directly with Site Operations team to implement tasks and tracking to meet compliance requirements. Provide real-time advice to various levels of personnel,
- Help identify and lead resolutions for noncompliance issues and conflicts of interest,
- Manage registration processes, rule impact analysis, test controls, legal entity identifier registrations, etc.
- Educate/train personnel on compliance procedures and new regulations,
- Lead business units in reviewing, revising and implementing adequate compliance processes and controls to ensure business units are properly complying with federal regulations, as well as ISO/RTO and other rules and in conforming to regulation changes,
- Maintain job knowledge to ensure expertise on NERC/RE/ISO reliability and compliance standards and requirements as well as industry best practices,
- Maintain awareness of the development of new/revised standards and any action plans required to ensure compliance with the standards prior to the mandatory enforcement date,
- Work closely with ROCC and OT/Network team to ensure compliance and provide guidance on required enhancements to system functionality,
- Hold regular meetings with stakeholders to communicate status of upcoming regulations, business actions taken/to be taken, and any issues,
- Actively participate in industry organizations, conferences, workshops and forums to update Company and Customers on existing and new Compliance Standards,
- Coordinate projects related to compliance activities ensuring that the scope, budget, schedule are within identified ranges,
- Assist in the budgeting process for Akuo managed projects as well as the compliance department.
Qualifications
- Bachelorās degree in a business or engineering related field and five (5) years of experience in compliance or operations directly associated with the bulk electric system,
- Must possess a general understanding of the electric generation and/or transmission systems and plant operations,
- Enhanced knowledge of FERC, NERC, and ISO/RTO, operating procedures, rules and regulations,
- Ability to read, understand and interpret complex laws, standards, rules, and regulations,
- Strong planning, organization and decision-making ability; must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work with minimal supervision while maintaining very tight requirements and deadlines,
- Excellent English written and verbal skills and excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels in the organization,
- High standard of integrity and reliability,
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and 7-year background check,
- Project management knowledge/experience preferred,
- Demonstrated skills leading and collaborating with others preferred,
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and out-of-the-box-thinking preferred,
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain same.
