Job Purpose

2nd Shift Production Operator

Responsible for operating, maintaining, and cleaning production equipment. To ensure a high quality and consistent product, you must pay close attention to details. Monitor machinery performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance to prevent downtime. To avoid cross-contamination between batches, equipment must be thoroughly cleaned. Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, safety protocols and production standards are observed. The position requires an understanding of the manufacturing process, as well as a commitment to upholding the highest standards of product quality and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Packaging and Palletizing : Package and palletize finished products into boxes, drums, gaylords, and supersacks ranging from 15 lbs to lbs.
• Housekeeping : Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area.
• Equipment Cleaning : Clean grinders, extruders, testing equipment, and charging equipment.
• Material Handling : Load and blend dry materials.
• Machine Operation : Operate grinder and extruder production lines.
• Forklift Operation : Operate a forklift for material handling.
• Floor Scrubber Operation : Operate a floor scrubber for cleaning.
• Dust Collector Maintenance : Replace filters on grinders' dust collectors.
• Sampling : Take samples of raw materials and finished products.
• Data Recording : Record batch variables and log data accurately.
• Safety : Perform all tasks safely and injury-free. Actively participate in improving department and plant safety.
• Compliance : Follow ISO procedures and environmental requirements.
• Training and Participation : Attend and participate in plant programs, committees, and training sessions as required.
