Job Purpose
The Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) Specialist III has basic knowledge of the relevant Product Safety regulatory landscape. They contribute to team deliverables by evaluating and validating data sources and ensuring regulatory compliance. Resolving and responding to customer inquiries in an accurate and timely fashion. Some individuals have specialist roles leading or supporting regulatory areas. This position will focus on TSCA/CEPA Compliance, GHS Compliance and Labeling.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage regulatory activities to support TSCA/CEPA compliance for the AkzoNobel North America (NAM) business (Marine, Yacht). Ensure compliance with EPA and Health Canada regulations.
- Submit dossiers to EPA, Health Canada, and State Government agencies in a timely and organized fashion.
- Assist in the response to EPA and Health Canada reporting requirements.
- Assist team members in other regulatory areas such as biocidal registrations and raw material compliance.
- Maintain and help build a repository for tracking.
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant NAM chemicals regulations and ensure transfer and retention of knowledge.
- Respond to internal customers and resolve raw material and/or product issues accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Communicate effectively both internally (other departments/ functions) and externally (Customers, regulators, suppliers, trade associations).
- Develop a good understanding of customer needs and relevant regulatory topics affecting the business, especially as it relates to GHS Compliance and Labeling.
- Be able to translate complex regulatory requirements to practical implications for the business.
- Identify potential non-compliances and areas of risk to the business and offer solutions.
- Contribute to cross-functional project teams as required.
- Identify and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of standard procedures (eg SOPs, ISO procedures).
Level of Autonomy
- Critical decisions should be discussed with direct management before implementation to establish a standard. Role can make independent decisions once a clear standard for a specific area or topic is set.
Job Requirements
- BS in a science discipline preferred (e.g. chemistry, toxicology, or closely related discipline) or equivalent experience in a Scientific discipline
- 1-4 yrs experience in Regulatory or RD&I role or other relevant function preferred
Total Compensation
- The salary range for these skills is: $65,000 to $75,000 a 5% Annual Bonus
