We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to join our team as the Bike Department Manager in our Boise store! In this role, you will be an active, visible leader, overseeing all aspects of the bike/ski shop and bike sales floor. Your responsibilities will include managing shop operations, bike service, ski/snowboard service, and the rental fleet, as well as overseeing bike sales floor operations, merchandising, staff scheduling, and training. Additionally, you will work 2-4 floor manager shifts per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all bike shop operations, including bike service, ski/snowboard service, and rental fleet management, ensuring efficiency and high-quality service.
- Manage bike sales floor operations, focusing on customer service, merchandising, and sales performance.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop staff to build a knowledgeable, motivated, and customer-focused team.
- Serve as an active, visible leader, coaching and supporting staff on the sales floor and in the service shop.
- Work 2-4 floor manager shifts per week to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive customer experience.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing bikes, parts, and services, and ensure accurate stock management.
- Prepare the department for promotions, ensuring signage accuracy and well-organized displays.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and repair shop.
- Stay familiar with merchandise to provide quick and accurate product information.
- Uphold store policies, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Contribute to overall team success by taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- 1-3 years of bike mechanic experience, with strong knowledge in bike maintenance and repair.
- Avid cyclist and experience in skiing, and snowboarding, with a solid understanding of related products and services.
- Previous leadership or management experience in a bike shop, ski shop, or outdoor retail setting.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and positive energy, while maintaining composure in stressful situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to engage with customers confidently.
- Strong decision-making and calculated delegation abilities to ensure smooth operations.
- Proven ability to train, motivate, and develop staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Experience in sales, merchandising, and inventory management, with a keen eye for detail and organization.
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills, able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- Flexibility to work hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
