Al's Sporting Goods is seeking experienced, detail-oriented Bike Service Technicians to join our service team of skilled mechanics at the Logan store. This is a versatile, dynamic role with a primary focus on bike mechanics, transitioning into ski technician work during the late fall and winter season.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and full builds on bikes/skis of all types
- Provide excellent customer service through clear communication and expert recommendations
- Handle bike tune-ups, overhauls, and the installation of new components.
- Troubleshoot issues and identify broken or damaged parts
- Articulate feedback to customers and team members
- Assist with the purchase of bikes, parts, and services
- Keep detailed records of the work done and parts used in the database
- Transition to ski and snowboard tuning, mounting, and repair work in the late fall/winter
- Fit customers for ski rentals, e.g., boots, skis, poles
- Perform safety tests for skis
- Mount ski bindings
- Educate customers about the proper operation and maintenance of gear and equipment
- Collects payments by accepting cash, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers
- Balances cash drawer by counting cash at the beginning and end of the work shift
- Stay up to date on industry trends, products, and techniques
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of bike mechanic and ski technician experience, with mid- to expert-level proficiency in bike mechanics
- Proven experience as a bike mechanic; certification or formal training a plus
- Must love to ride and ski or board — hands-on experience with the gear is a must.
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Able to do Suspension Servicing, Wheel building, Mountain and Road Overhauls
- Knowledgeable in the current product line and service procedures
- Must be comfortable speaking to customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Collaborative team player with strong communication and well-developed organizational skills
- Work with a sense of urgency, full of energy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends, and all major sale events
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
