Alaant is excited to recruit a Senior Electrical Project Manager for our electrical contracting client in Rensselaer, NY.
As a Senior Electrical Project Manager, you will deliver reliable, timely, and professional support to a team of electricians. You will be the critical link between the office and the field, ensuring seamless communication and project execution. Acting as the face of the company to clients, you will use your independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and manage a diverse workload in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Responsibilities for the Senior Electrical Project Manager role :
- Collaborate closely with the foreman to ensure project execution with a lean construction mentality.
- Create a positive relationship with all clients, general contractors, and subcontractors.
- Assist the Safety Manager in ensuring a safe job site.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the project(s) from start to finish, reporting weekly to key stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow to ensure the schedule of values is set up correctly in the system, and pay applications are submitted on time.
- Identify and estimate all change events as needed.
- Work with Purchasing to buy out large equipment & subcontractor packages.
- Review of material requests to ensure orders meet the project scope.
- Requirements for the Senior Electrical Project Manager role :
- Associate or bachelors degree in electrical engineering or construction management.
- 10 years of as an electrician
- 5 years in construction / project management
- Union status REQUIRED in Local 236, 325, 343, 363, or other electrician unions.
- PMI Project management certification is preferred.
- Proficiency of National Electrical Code
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera
- Experience with Earned-Value reporting.
- Experience working on BIM projects and alongside subcontracted BIM modelers.
