Summary :
This is a part-time position and reports directly to the Director of Admissions and / or Director of Graduate Recruitment and Student Enrollment.
The Admissions Counselor represents the University both on- and off-campus to prospective transfer students, parents, community college counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Plan and implement recruitment activities for assigned community colleges and territories, including travel to distant sites in the state of Alabama
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at the University.
- One-on-one admissions counseling to diverse populations.
- Admissions counseling occurs primarily by in-person appointments, phone calls and emails.
- Review materials submitted by applicants for the purposes of making admission decisions.
- Travel, load recruitment materials, displays and other equipment.
- Work some evenings and weekend hours, especially during recruitment travel season.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
