What are the responsibilities and job description for the Worship Leader position at Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions?
Beechwood Baptist Church is vibrant congregation located in Mount Olive, Alabama, 10 minutes north of Birmingham with new homes and neighborhoods and quick access to Metro Birmingham.
The Worship Leader will be responsible to the Pastor and Personnel Committee for planning, conducting, and evaluating a growing and balanced music ministry that will draw the congregation closer to God through worship, blending the use of traditional hymns, modern worship and other styles representative of the congregation’s corporate worship culture.
The Worship Leader will lead in all aspects of the worship ministry including congregational singing, ensembles, soloists, and instrumentalists. The worship leader will plan and implement worship team rehearsals, as well as developing a youth worship team. The worship leader will give support to children’s and preschool choirs, in order to develop future and current worship leaders. The ability to direct and coordinate the work of volunteers is essential. The ability to read music is crucial. The ability to play guitar or other instruments is preferred.

This role requires a strong foundation in both music and ministry, as well as a deep commitment to helping people connect with God through worship, employing hymns, choruses, modern worship and other styles as representative of the collective worship culture of Beechwood Baptist Church.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership:
Lead worship services on Sunday morning service, Wednesday night Bible study, and other special services/events.
Prepare and lead worship teams (band, singers, etc) to create an engaging and biblically sound worship experience.
Select appropriate worship songs that incorporate both hymns and modern Christian music.
Lead rehearsals to ensure the worship team/choir is prepared and coordinated for each service.
Team Development
Provide mentoring and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and spiritually enriching environment.
Encourage musical excellence while maintaining a focus on worship that glorifies God.
Build relationships with the worship team members.
Work closely with the Pastor to ensure worship aligns with the church's vision and mission.
Administrative Duties
Manage the worship budget, ensuring appropriate resources for equipment, materials, and training.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of musical instruments and sound equipment.
Assist in the planning and execution of special events such as holiday services.
