Position Summary
The Workforce Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the various activities for the Innovation Center under the duties assigned by the Workforce Director and / or Director of the Innovation Center.
This position will be based at a location in the Southern region of the state.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES :
- Participate in recruiting and outreach efforts on behalf of the Innovation Center to promote Skills for Success training programs and generate interest for short-term training programs.
- Work with the Workforce Director / Workforce Manager, to document student, instructor, and class information that is needed for reporting.
- Monitor registration data and recommend marketing and public relations efforts targeted at increasing enrollment. Implement recommendations when appropriate.
- Assist Community Colleges with Skills for Success training courses including needs of equipment, instructors, supplies, and regularly monitor class progress for quality.
- Develop and maintain community and corporate relationships and promote Skills for Success in the business community.
- Collect, organize, and maintain production statistics in spreadsheets for various reports.
- Prepare accurate reports and enter data in state database when required.
- Organize and maintain filing system for class records in accordance with state regulations.
- Assist in creating and maintaining databases of qualified third-party instructors.
- Conduct onboarding and training for incoming instructors to ensure proficiency in adhering to policies and procedures of the Innovation Center and ACCS.
- Meet regularly with instructors and provide supervision, guidance, support, and feedback to ensure effectiveness.
SECONDARY DUTIES :
- As assigned by Workforce Director, and / or Workforce Manager, represent and promote the Innovation Center by leading task forces, serving on committees and attending regional meetings, and by engaging Community Colleges for content creation.
- Ability to work evening or weekend duty.
- Assists with gathering information and data needed for reports.
- Comply with policies of the Alabama Community College System.
- Conduct him / herself in a professional manner and exhibit a positive image for the College.
- Always provide excellent customer service which includes, but is not limited to exhibiting a positive, friendly demeanor, building rapport through greeting individuals and listening carefully to assess student needs, and following up on commitments in a timely fashion.
- Participate in professional development, compliance, performance excellence, and training activities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Workforce Director and / or Workforce Manager.
Qualifications
REQUIRED :
- Associate degree in business administration, management, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in corporate environment or Higher Ed with focus on workforce results.
- Experience / background in customized training, safety, security, and / or facilities planning and maintenance.
- Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail, work independently in meeting various time deadlines and work pressures with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to travel overnight and drive own or other vehicle to various locations as needed.
- Ability to work independently with or without direct supervision.
PREFERRED :
Experience in Elevate, Banner, and LMS operating systems.

Sick Leave
Full-time employees earn 4 hours and 20 minutes of sick leave for each half-monthly pay period of service or 13 days per year.

Personal Leave
All full-time, part-time, or temporary employees who are employed by the State of Alabama on January 1, and who are stationed outside of Mobile and Baldwin Counties, are entitled to a personal leave day each year in lieu of the former Mardi Gras holiday.
The System Office policy requires that employees schedule their personal leave day prior to scheduling any annual leave.

Retirement
The Alabama Community College System participates in the Retirement Systems of Alabama Teachers Retirement System. Teachers Retirement System is a state-mandated program where a percentage of your salary is withheld per pay period for an individual's retirement account.
The percentage is determined by an employee's hire date and any prior participation in the Retirement Systems of Alabama.
Tier I (those with service credit prior to January 1, 2013) : 7.5%
Tier II (those with service credit beginning on or after January 1, 2013) : 6.2%

Tuition Waiver
