What are the responsibilities and job description for the State Intern - Financial Associate position at Alabama Department of Education?
Duties will include, but will not be limited to the following :
- Regulatory Knowledge : Read and review CNP state policies, state laws, federal policy memorandums, and federal regulations to maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory programmatic requirements. Ensure no valid complaints are directed to the supervisor regarding knowledge gaps.
- Compliance Assessment : Examine and review records, documents, and procedures to accurately assess the adequacy of fiscal records and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state policies, regulations, and laws.
- Records Management : Organize sponsor files to maintain comprehensive records for fiscal control functions. Review financial reports and related documents to ensure they are properly completed and accurately reflect compliance status.
- Data Management : Review and prepare forms, spreadsheets, and statistical data for CNP program sponsors using regulatory information and software programs.
- Claims Verification : Understand meal counting and claiming processes and calculate data to verify proper filing of claims.
- Field Work : Travel to attend state training sessions, site visits, and meetings throughout the state as assigned.
- Office Software Utilization : Utilize office software programs to enhance efficiency in correspondence, communication, and meeting deadlines, ensuring department, division, and section goals are met.
- Technical Assistance and Research : Perform assignments as directed by the supervisor, including creating presentations and researching ways to provide technical assistance to program sponsors. Maintain logs and reports for financial compliance.
