JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE : Bus Aide
REPORTS TO : Bus Driver / Coordinator of Transportation
JOB GOAL : To assist the bus driver in providing the safest and most efficient transportation possible for the special needs students in the District
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated success in relevant work experience
- Ability and willingness to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication with students, parents, and others
- Ability to identify and solve problems as a productive team member
- Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions
- Physical strength, agility, dexterity, acuity, and mobility to perform job responsibilities
- Ability to use technology to communicate, to manage data, and to produce / submit required reports, correspondence, and / or financial information
- Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and assist students with specific hygiene needs
- Ability to transfer students and provide physical intervention when required
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- CPR certification
- 21 years of age or older
- Ability to meet suitability criteria under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457
- Such Alternatives to the above qualifications as state, federal, and local law and the Board may require
