Position Overview:
As a Medical Receptionist at Alabama Functional Medicine, you will open and close the practice daily, greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner, check patients in/out, schedule appointments, answer phone calls, take detailed messages, manage patient inquiries by communicating with providers and other team members, respond to patient correspondence, maintain electronic medical records and provider/treatment schedules, perform administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry, referrals, medical record requests, and maintain the lobby area including stocking supplements and water. You will manage supplements in the office including receiving, unpacking, stocking shelves, performing monthly inventory counts, and fulfilling in-office and online orders. You will deliver packages to the USPS and UPS as needed.
Any team member who works in our practice must have exceptional customer service skills and be willing to go the extra mile for our patients. Professionalism in appearance and conduct is a must. You must be self-driven and extremely organized.
This position requires a candidate who follows a healthy lifestyle and models the recommendations for healthy living that we recommend to our patients.

Qualifications/Skills:
· High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
· Previous experience working in a medical office is preferred
· Exceptional communication skills and an ability to relay information concisely
· High level of professionalism and customer service required
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills required
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
· Self-driven
· Ability to create/maintain patient relationships
· Comfortable discussing sexual and urinary health issues
· Basic computer skills required
· Familiarity with phone systems and basic office equipment
· Respectful of coworkers and ability to work with a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as move about easily. Must be able to lift boxes/supplies as needed.
