JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing cardiac services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic following established standards and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate.
- Master of Science in Nursing graduate.
- Completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
- Current RN and CRNP license in good standing in the state of practice, and all other sates where license is held.
- Evidence of BLS, ACLS, and all additional required credentials specific to nurse specialty and as designated by health care organization.
- Minimum of two years of NP experience.
MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES:
- Performs a physical exam, obtains complete medical history and records findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.
- Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines.
- Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments. Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Triage’s patient telephone calls and provides consultation.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
Tasks
- Facilitate new patient consultation and health history review.
- Perform physical examinations and screenings of patients.
- Order and administer tests including bloodwork.
- Review and interpret test results.
- Diagnosis health problems.
- Detect changes in patient medical condition.
- Administer medications.
- Operate medical equipment.
- Recommend further treatment options or future appointments.
- Provide referrals to other practitioners when necessary.
- Provide after care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families.
- Ensure patient records are kept up to date information and resources to patients and their families.
- Ensure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc.
- Consult with other healthcare professional.
- Deliver quality, physician level care while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and productivity metrics.

Nurse Practitioner will be on call an average of two weeknights a month and one weekend a month. They will also be expected to make rounds with the physician in the mornings.
The salary is commensurate with experience.
