You will play a vital role in assisting manufacturing operations as you will a part of the AIB team in producing high quality work. This position reports to the Quality Control Coordinator.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate
- Minimum (3) years of work experience in Quality Control of Sewn Products
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and Google Suite.
- Work history that demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum one (1) year of experience working with individuals that are Deaf, Blind, DeafBlind, multidisabled or has another significant disability.
- Demonstrated experience and familiarity with ISO 9001-2015, FAR 52.246-11 High Level Contract Quality requirement or equivalent systems.
- Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics AX or enterprise software.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must follow AIDB policies and procedures.
- Must understand, support and follow the mission of the AbilityOne Program by remaining in compliance of statutory and regulatory requirements set forth in the Javits-Wagner-O’Day Act. You are expected to conduct all business ethically and lawfully.
- Demonstrate a good attendance record. May be required to work overtime to meet on time delivery schedules.
- Must be able to perform your responsibilities that sets a good example for others to follow.
- Must be able to deal pleasantly and courteously with all of the AIB Team to include co-workers, Supervisors, Line Leaders, Quality Control Coordinator, Plant Manager and Executive Director.
- Must be able to deal pleasantly and courteously with customers at all levels of an organization such as Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA).
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and deal with changes in the work assignments.
- Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Quality Control Coordinator to review technical data packages, product descriptions, purchase orders and other contract documents to identify the specification requirements product must meet.
- Assist the Quality Control Coordinator to prepare production surveillance plan designed to meet the level of detail appropriate for the size, complexity, and intended use of manufactured products.
- Perform receiving inspection on raw materials in accordance with contract requirements.
- Perform final inspection on finished product in accordance with contract requirements.
- Review production transfers for accuracy and input into required data into system.
- Maintain required documentation of inspection records, raw material test reports, certificates of compliance and Berry Amendment compliance documentation as per contract and ISO 9001-2015 requirements.
- Work with production team to discover root cause for manufacturing defects and offer corrective and preventative action plans.
- Serve as ISO 9001-2015 internal auditor to ensure compliance with the ISO standard.
- Assist the manufacturing engineer and manufacturing technician to develop work instructions, and manufacturing process design to meet production specifications and develop blind labor opportunities.
- Assign work to the Quality Control team with timeframe for completion.
- .Maintain inventory list and management of calibrated/verified tooling in accordance with contract and ISO requirements.
- Printing and control of production piece rate tickets.
- Must possess or develop an understanding of cultures and needs of persons who are deaf, blind or deaf/blind, ensuring all actions and decisions demonstrate a respect for and value of persons with sensory loss.
- Must attend Disability Sensitivity Training within the first six (6) months of employment.
