POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in accounting, finance, or business administration and a minimum of three years of successful work experience in payroll, accounting or auditing. Or a minimum of eight years of payroll related work experience in an educational institution.
· Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements.
· Must be highly self-motivated.
· Minimum three years of data entry experience.
· Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office software; including Word and Excel
· Ability to handle sensitive or restricted information in a professional and confidential manner.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.
· Experience handling a high volume employee count payroll
· Work as a member of a team and organize work activities for other members of that team
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
· Must possess understanding of internal controls and basic accounting principles.
· Keep up to date knowledge of payroll laws, personnel policies, practices and procedures.
· A sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty -six (36) months of employment.
· Team player attitude and willingness to help where needed.
· Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint backgroundcheck at an agency designated and paid by AIDB
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Oversee all payroll representatives to ensure accurate and timely preparation.
· Optimizes the contribution of the team through coaching, counseling and implements workable solutions to business issues/problems.
· Ensure team members acquire necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs.
· Adhere to all rules and procedures involved in the processing and distribution of paychecks.
· Train team members on new or enhance operation procedures and policies.
· Cover for team members in back-up role for vacation and/or high-volume work efforts.
· Answer questions from supervisors and employees concerning pay.
· Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the department goals.
· Serve as backup to Payroll Manager
· Perform other duties as may be assigned
SALARY: $62,142 - $82,893 Rank PI Scale 56
(260 workdays)
