What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Alabama Neurology & Sleep Medicine?
Full or Part time medical assistant position for busy 6 provider private practice. Must have experience in the health care field, knowledge of medications and ability to take manual vital signs . Electronic medical records experience a plus. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE!
Hours Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 4:00pm (rarely may have to stay over 15 minutes) and Fridays 7:30am to noon.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Obtaining vital signs: blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and weight (must be able to perform manual blood pressure)
- Entering patient information (vital signs, medications, demographic information, etc) into electronic health computer systems
- Cleaning & Stocking exam rooms daily or weekly based on needs
- Other various responsibilities
Requirements
- Positive, Outgoing Personality
- Strong communication and people skills (you must enjoy interacting with people)
- Ability to work well with others
- Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities (this is a very fast paced position)
- Understands the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality
- Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision
